1 12-oz. package Nestle Chocolate Chips
1 c. broken walnut meats (optional)
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
1 12-oz. can evaporated milk
20 marshmallows

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare a small baking dish (6” X 8”) or other serving dish with a thin coat of cooking spray or butter.

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine chocolate chips, walnut pieces, butter and vanilla.

In a medium-sized heavy saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk and marshmallows. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Let the mixture boil 6 minutes, still stirring. Turn the heat to its lowest setting, add chocolate chip mixture to the pan and stir until chocolate and butter melt. Keep the heat low and stir constantly until smooth.

Pour into serving dish and cool. Cut into squares and serve.

Nothing throws me back to my childhood more than the taste of this recipe. I remember my grandmother in her kitchen, stirring the marshmallows and watching them melt. It was a pleasure to spend time in my own kitchen with my own daughter, passing down this sweet recipe.
