Ingredients:

Sugar Cookie:
1 ½ c butter
2 c sugar
3 eggs (use 4 eggs for a soft cookie or 3 eggs for a little crisper cookie)
2 t vanilla extract

5 c all purpose flour
2 t baking powder
1 t salt

Icing:
4 c confectioners' sugar
½ c butter, softened
5 T milk
1 t almond extract

For extract you can use vanilla, lemon, orange, peppermint, etc.

Directions:

Sugar Cookies:

Cream butter and sugar together.
Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and beat.
Sift flour, baking powder & salt together in a separate bowl. Gradually beat into mixture.
Chill dough for 1 hour.
Roll out ½ inch thick and cut shapes.

Bake at 400º 6-8 minutes.

Icing:

Combine everything together in mixer and beat. Add food color for variety of
colors to use for decorating.

Decorate cookies beautifully and add sprinkles, etc. Fun!
