¼ cup olive oil
1 onion, diced
3 heaping tsp. minced garlic
4 cans plain tomato puree
2 cans plain tomato paste
½ to 1 large can water
1 tbsp. basil
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tsp. sugar
2 bay leaves
A dash of hot sauce (Tabasco)
½ cup good red wine

Directions:
Directions:
1. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until clear/translucent.
2. Add puree, paste, water, and seasoning.
3. Optional: Cook up sweet and hot Italian sausages and meatballs and add to sauce.
4. Simmer on low all day.
5. Add red wine 15-30 minutes before serving.
