2 ½ cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups M&M's (reserve 1/2 for decorating if desired)

Preheat oven to 375º
line baking sheet with parchment paper for best results
In a medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda until well blended.
in a large mixing bowl, mix the butter and sugars with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy (this will take several minutes)
Beat in the eggs and vanilla until creamy
Stir in flour mixture with a wooden spoon just until blended
Stir in 1 1/2 cups M&M's
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets. Press several additional M&M's into each cookie.
Bake on center rack for 9-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
Transfer to cooling rack
