3T sugar or equivalent of a sugar substitute

Add vinegar and sugar to measuring cup and add warm water to reach one cup. Stir and pour over cucumbers. Add sliced purple onion and refrigerate for several hours. Great to make in advance!

This was one of Granny's staple recipes that everyone loved. When Ben and Ron were born, I made Granny switch from using Sweet and Low to sugar so that the kids could enjoy and not ingest those chemicals! Suzie

Today, I use seasoned rice vinegar. The cucumbers are ready almost immediately and do not need to marinate. I also do not add sugar. Suzie
