1 c butter
2 c sugar
2 eggs beaten
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp vanilla, nutmeg or any other flavoring
4 c flour
4 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, milk and flavoring.
Sift flour.
Mix baking powder with 2 cups flour, combine mixtures. Add rest of the flour. Chill.
Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut half in rounds and cut remaining with a donut cutter.
Place over plain round and fill center with 1/2 teaspoon jelly.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes four dozen cookies.
