1 C butter, softened
½ C white sugar
¾ C brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 C flour
1 C old-fashioned oats
1 C semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir in oats. Stir in the chocolate chips. Chill in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto cookie sheet. Bake 375º for 9-12 minutes or until done. They may look a little uncooked in the center but they are better if they are not overbaked.

Rhonda was one of the mothers in MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) in Port Angeles, WA. She notes, "Cheryl, these cookies need to be kept airtight when stored or they dry out quickly due to the higher brown sugar amount. It's actually best to eat the all the same day. :) Hee, hee!"
