1 – 3oz. package cream cheese
½ cup butter
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 egg
¾ cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. soft butter
1 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
2/3 cup coarsely broken pecans

Pastry:
Soften cream cheese and butter. Blend. Stir in flour. Chill 1 hour. Shape into 2 dozen 1-inch balls. In ungreased small muffin pans, press dough against bottom and up sides.

Filling:
Beat together egg, sugar, vanilla, and butter until smooth. Divide half pecans among pastries. Add filling and top with rest of pecans. Bake in 325-degree oven for 25 minutes, until filling sets. Cool; gently remove from pans. Makes 2 dozen.
