1½ cup quick Quaker oats
1 stick unsalted butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
¾ cup sugar
1 tbsp. flour
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
½ cup nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and pour over oats in mixing bowl. Stir. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, flour, salt and baking powder. Add the sugar mixture to oats and blend all. Beat egg lightly with fork. Add egg and vanilla to oat mixture. Stir in broken nutmeats. Using teaspoon, drop small amount at wide intervals (spread thin). Bake about 11 minutes on foil-covered cookie sheet at 350º. Let cool. Remove from foil.

Do not bake until brown. Reverse foil for each pan. This is an excellent cookie for those who do not like overly sweet cookies, and is a very easy cookie to make.
