1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
1/4 cup sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup molasses
1/3 cup shortening, melted

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine first 6 ingredients; set aside.
2. Combine eggs, buttermilk, molasses, and melted shortening. Stir well.
3. Add to flour mixture, stirring until blended.
4. Pour batter into a preheated and oiled waffle iron.
5. Cook until waffle cooked through and golden brown.
6. Serve with butter and syrup. Waffles may be frozen and reheated in the microwave or oven.
