½ cup milk
2 cups unhulled sesame seeds
4 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3½ teas. baking powder
½ teas. salk
½ lb. unsalted butter (2 sticks) cut into pieces softened
2 large eggs at room temperature½
1 teas. vanilla
1 teas. grated orange zest

Preheat oven to 350º
Butter and flour 2 baking sheets
Pour milk into a shallow bowl. Spread seeds on waxed paper
Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
On a low speed beat in butter a little at a time.
In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, vanilla, and orange zest.
Stir the egg mixture into the dry ingredients until well blended.
Pinch off a piece of the dough the size of a golf ball and shape it into a log 2 1/2 inches thick.
Dip the log into milk, then roll in seeds.
Place on prepared sheet and flatten slightly.
Place cookies one inch apart.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until well browned.
Cool on baking sheets for 10 minutes then transfer to a cookie rack to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container
