1 package dry yeast
¼ cup warm water
2 cups scalded milk
¼ cup butter
2 teaspoons salt
6 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle dry yeast over warm water. Let stand 5 minutes. Mix until dissolved. Mix warm milk, sugar, butter, and salt. Add yeast and 3 cups flour. Beat well, add remaining flour and knead until smooth and satiny. Place in a greased bowl, turn upside down and cover with a towel. Place the bowl in a warm spot and let rise until double in size. Punch down and let rise 30 minutes more. Shape into loaves, place in well greased bread pans. Let rise 45 more minutes. Bake at 400º for 35 minutes
