Directions:
Mix thoroughly the butter, cream, and flour. Cover and chill.

Heat oven to 375º. Roll ⅓ of dough at a time to ⅛" thick on floured, cloth-covered board. Keep remainder of dough chilled. Cut rolled dough into 1½" rounds.

Transfer rounds to a piece of waxed paper that is heavily spread with granulated sugar. Turn so both sides are coated. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Prick rounds with a fork 4 times.

Bake 7-9 min. or just until set. Do not brown. Cool. Put cookies together in pairs with creamy filling.

Creamy filling: Cream first three ingredients together until smooth and fluffy. Tint with food coloring. If necessary, add a few drops of water.

Personal Notes:
Granny made these with pastel green and pink frosting for Christmas. She used Christmas shapes that were about 1" in size. They remain a personal favorite!
