1c raw rice, 1c + 2Tbsp cold water

1-1/4c rice, scant 1-1/2c water
1-1/2c rice, 1-3/4c water
1-3/4c rice, 2c + 2Tbsp water
2c rice, 2-1/3c water

Directions:
While this works well in electric rice pots, the traditional method is as follows:
Wash the rice several times, drain well after final rinse. Put rice and water in a medium pot with a right fitting lid. Let soak for 15-20 minutes. If pressed for time, you can add an extra tsp of water h cook immediately.

Note- once you start this process do not lift the lid to peek, as this releases the steam.

Place tightly lidded pot over high heat for 4-5 minutes, or until the water bubbles, indicated by the lid dancing. Lower heat to medium and continue cooking for 8-10 minutes, or until nearly all water has been absorbed, indicated by the pot making a low hissing sound. Turn heat up to high for 20-30 second to "dry off" rice, then immediately remove from heat and allow rice to sit & steam for 15-20 minutes.
