Pork sausage/drippings
2 Tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
Salt
1/2 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon cayenne (optional), not traditional

Over medium heat, cook the pork sausage. Crumble the sausage into small pieces.
Add flour and cook for 5 minutes.
Add the milk and bring to a simmer. Add seasoning and stir until blended.

This is a take on Granny's gravy. Fried chicken is not eaten as often, so this is still a way to enjoy sausage gravy, granny gravy on biscuits or mashed potatoes.
When I think of home, I think of gravy, chicken, and potatoes. It was a favorite in our family and since Granny lived with us, she oversaw the making of this delcious morning treat.
