2 handfuls of corn flakes

Directions:
Crust: Blend flour, salt and shortening for pie crust. In a cup put the egg yolk (reserve the egg white) and fill with milk to ⅔ of the cup. Add the wet ingredents to dry and mix. Cut dough in half - roll our first half large enoug to cover small pizza pan.

Filling: Crush 2 handfuls of cornflakes and spring over the bottom of the crust. Spread the apples evenly over the cornflakes. Mix sugar, cinnamon and sprinkle over the sliced apples. Dot with small pieces of the butter - use enough to get even coverage.

Top Crust: Roll out the reserve dough and place on top of the pie - crimp the edges of the top and bottom crust. Beat the reserve egg white and spread over top of the crust. With a knife poke three to five air holes.

Bake: 400º for 10-15 minutes and then 375º for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Frosting: mix the powdered sugar and milk (add more milk if needed to gain a pourable consistancy) and pour over the top of the pie while still warm
