Ingredients:
Grandma's Cherry Slice: 2 cups of white sugar, 1 cup of margarine (or butter preferably), 4 eggs, 3 cups of flour, 1 1/2 tsp. almond flavouring, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 can of cherry pie filling.

Directions:
Directions:
You'll need a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. These are essentially just cherry pie bars. There are more really similar recipes on-line if you'd like to experiment.

First cream butter and sugar. Then add the eggs and almond and vanilla flavoritngs.
Then add the flour and mix well. Line a cookie sheet pan with 1/2 of this mixture - Spread cherry pie filling over mixture and then top with the rest of pastry. Bake at 325 degrees until done or I'd say between 30-40 minutes or until pastry is nicely browned.. May be iced with icing while warm.

As for icing, the standard icing sugar bag recipe will do. Make sure the icing is more runny to drizzle over cherry slice.
