2 c sugar
1 c shortening
4 eggs
1 t vanilla
½ c cocoa
1½ c flour
½ t salt
1 c chopped nuts

Directions:

Cream: sugar & shortening

Add: eggs & beat

Mix dry ingredients & Add to egg mixture

Add: vanilla & nuts

Put in greased pan

Bake @ 325º for 15 - These25 minutes

This recipe came from Martha Hinnant's little green box of recipes. After Wallace and I were married, he made these for me to show me he could cook. He did and he could cook, however, cleaning up was not necessarily his thing. He made such a mess that I thanked him for making me the brownies but that I would do the cooking and baking in the future.
