"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
1/2 pound pecan halves; 1 egg white; 1/2 cup of sugar; 1/3 tsp of nutmeg or cinnamon (optional).
Preheat oven to 350F. Place pecans in a mixing bowl. Add egg white and toss with pecans until well coated. Add sugar and spices to bowl and toss until sugar coats pecans. Spread pecans in a single layer on a greased cookie sheet (I use a foil lined cooking sheet instead.)
Bake for 15 minutes at 350F or until the sugar looks bubbly. Remove from oven. Loosen pecans and let cool for 10 minutes.
5 minutes plus baking time.
Love these at Christmas for presents and special treats!
