2 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
3 cups walnuts
1 tablespoon fresh grated orange rind
Butter or baking fat

Directions:

Mix sugar and cream in large heavy skillet. Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring frequently. Add nuts and orange rind. Cook about 5 minutes over moderate heat stirring constantly until mixture reaches 234º F on a candy thermometer or a small amount dropped in cold water forms a ball. Remove from heat and stir until syrup becomes creamy and looses gloss. Transfer onto baking sheet and separate walnuts with a fork. Store in an airtight container.
