½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup sugar
½ cup molasses
2 eggs
2 cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ chopped nuts
¼ teaspoon mace

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugar. Add in molasses and eggs. Beat well. Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, mace, and nutmeg. Add to molasses mixture. Mix well. Fold in nuts. Spread evenly in greased 12 x 8 inch pan. Bake at 350º F for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
