Gramma's Maple Fudge Recipe

1 cup maple syrup
2 T. corn syrup
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup cream

1 stick butter
walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients in a large pot and brush any sugar down sides with water and pastry brush.
Cook over high heat until it boils, stirring occasionally. Let boil until soft ball stage.
Remove from heat and add 1 stick butter. Without stirring in, cool to lukewarm.
Beat with a wooden spoon (add nuts if desired) and stir until beginning to lose gloss and stiffens. Place quickly in greased pan and let set.
Cut in squares while still warm.
Cool completely.
Better 2nd day.
