½ cup shortening
2 ounces chocolate
¾ cup sifted flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 eggs, well-beaten
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening and chocolates in a double-boiler over hot water. Cool.

In another bowl, sift the flour, baking powder and salt.

Add sugar to chocolate mixture and stir, add in eggs. Add to melted shortening and chocolate. Add flour and nuts.

Bake in a greased pan at 350 for 35 minutes.
