½ cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg beaten
2 oz unsweetened chocolate melted
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Beat in egg and chocolate. Stir in dry ingredients. Add nuts last. Roll in logs wrap in plastic wrap and chill. Slice ¼" thick and bake at 375º for 6 minutes. Time may vary depending on how thick you sliced the dough. Thicker makes softer cookies.
