Brown Sugar Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup raisins ( If wanted )
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoons soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cups apple sauce
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add egg. Beat
well. Add raisins, sifted flour, cinnamon, baking
powder, salt, soda, nutmeg and add apple
sauce. Drop on greased cookie sheets. Bake
350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes
