3/4- cup shortening
1- cup sugar
2- eggs
1- cup cooked mashed carrots (about 3)
1-Tlb. Grated Orange rinds
1- tea. Baking powder
1- tea vanilla
1/2 tea. salt
3- cups flour
1- cup nuts
Icing
Powder sugar, orange juice and butter, it's just a glaze over the hot cookies.

Cream shortening, sugar, and vanilla, add eggs one at a time, add mashed carrots and mix, then add flour, baking powder, salt and orange rinds.

Bake at 350 for about ten minutes. Ice while hot.
