Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons anise extract
1 teaspoon orange extract (optional)
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1 stick of margarine melted
1/8 cup of whole milk
4 - 6 cups of flour

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Combine 4 cups of flour with the rest of the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and set aside.

Mix eggs, sugar, oil, milk, orange, and anise extracts in bowl of mixer and beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.

Add dry ingredients to mixture until a soft ball of dough forms. If dough is too sticky, add the remaining flour, a little at a time until desired consistancy is reached.

On a lightly floured surface, knead dough for about a minute.

Cut a small piece of dough, roll it on a surface into a long rope, about 6 inches, and then tie rope into a knot and set on greased cookie sheet. Repeat this process until all the dough is used up. Bake in oven approximately for 15 minutes.

Icing:

1 cup of confectioners sugar
2 tablespoons of whole milk
1 to 2 teaspoons of anise extract
