6 tbls. butter, softened
1 egg
¾ c. sugar
½ c. maple syrup
¼ c. milk
½ tsp. maple extract
2¼ c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

FILLING:
2 c. maple syrup
4 tbls. butter
2 c. confectionary sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º
Grease a cookie sheet

Cream together butter, egg and sugar.
Mix in maple syrup, milk and maple extract.
Beat in dry ingredients, mixing well.
Drop by large scoop onto prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for approximately 20 minutes.
Cool
Fill with maple filling.

FILLING
In a large saucepan, add maple syrup and boil to 236º on candy thermometer.
Remove from heat and set until room temperature.
Add the butter and beat.
Beat in the confectionary sugar until right consistancy for spreading - may need more confectionary sugar.
Fill the whoopie pies.
