¾ c. butter or margarine or shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
¼ c, molasses
2½ c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger

Directions:

Heat oven to 375º
Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

In a large mixer bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
Add the egg and molasses until mixed.
In a medium bowl, combine the dry ingredients and spices.
Slowly add to the butter mixture and combine.
Chill the dough.
Roll into 1" balls.
Roll into the sugar.
Place 3" apart on cookie sheet
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Do not overbake!
