2 tbsp. Shortening
3/4 C. Sugar
2 Eggs (well-beaten)
3/4 C. Milk
3 1/2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Salt
5 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well. Add milk, then flour sifted with salt, baking powder and spices. Roll on lightly floured surface, 3/8" thick. Cut with small, floured biscuit cutter. Let stand 15 minutes. Fry in deep, hot oil (375) until brown, turning once. Drain on absorbent paper. Roll in granulated sugar. Makes 6 dozen.
