1/2 C. Shortening
3/4 C. Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
2 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 - 3 tbsp. Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk, mix thoroughly. Roll 1/2" thick on lightly floured surface. Cut with floured cookie cutters, sprinkle with sugar. Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 12 minutes. Makes 1 1/2 dozen large cookies.
