1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp. soda
1/4 c. hot water
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar. Add beaten eggs. Put soda in hot water & add. Add coconut & vanilla. Add flour, salt & baking powder. Form into a ball and flatten with a fork dipped in flour. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes.
