Grandma's Pecan Pie Recipe

2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup pecan halves
Make pie crust or purchase the Pillsbury pie crust from the frozen section at the store.

Directions:

Pre-heat oven at 375º.

Line pie pan with one-crust ("pastry"). See Grandma's pie crust recipe.

Beat together all ingredients except pecan halves with rotary beater (hand mixer).

Then mix in the pecans (don't include in the "beating" process).

Pour all into the crust-lined pie pan.

Bake until set and pastry (crust) is nicely browned, about 40 to 50 minutes. Grandma suggests that you poke it with a clean knife or toothpick. If it is pretty clean, it is ready. If it is soupy, let it cook some more.

Cool after taking out of oven. Serve cold or slightly warm.
