3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
7 tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. water
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. vinegar
12 tbsp. oil
1 c. milk
4 level tbsp flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 lb butter

Sift together in 9 x 12 baking dish, flour (3 c.), sugar, cocoa, baking soda, salt. Mix together with a fork

Make 3 holes in the dry mixture, add vanilla in the 1st hole, 2 tbsp. of vinegar in 2nd hole and 12 tbsp. in 3rd hole. Pour water over mixture, mix and blend together with a fork until smooth and well mixed.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes

Cook milk and flour until thick. Set aside until cool. Blend butter, shortening until smooth, gradually add 1 c. powdered sugar, add cold mixture very slowly. Mix for 4 min, add vanilla.
