1 c sugar
½ c butter or cooking oil
2 eggs - beaten
1 c milk
2 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
A little salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and oil. Beat eggs and add to sugar mixture. Add milk, then dry ingredients and vanilla.

Grandma Emma Hawk would then sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon and sugar over the batter.

Bake in greased 9x13 pan at 350º for 20-25 minutes.

Grandma always had little thin sugar cookies or this cake on her table. Seems like she kept the cookies in a round, metal, yellow pan with a lid on it.

Her little thin, crisp sugar cookies at Christmas time would have little cut-up pieces of raisins for the reindeer eyes and red hots for the top of the Christmas tree cookies.
Such good memories of Christmas at Grandma's house.
