½ cup water
1 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs
2 tbsp. melted beef fat from a roast
(I use a glop of Crisco shortening)

Directions:
Beat the milk, water, flour, salt, and eggs with an electric beater until very smooth and bubbly. Set aside for half-hour. Beat for 1 minute. Put hot beef fat in a dripper or divide into muffin pans. Heat in a hot oven for a minute or two. If using muffin tin put 3 tbsp. batter in each pan. Bake very hot for 8 minutes at 450 degrees. Reduce heat to 400 degrees and bake for another 8-10 minutes until brown. Serve with gravy. This makes 12 small servings.
