1 1/3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 c finely chopped pecans
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
In mixer, cream sugar, shortening, eggs, and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet until well mixed. Fold nuts into the dough. Drop by the teaspoon onto cookie sheets (grease or use parchment). Bake in 375º oven for 8 minutes until lightly brown. Cool on wire rack then place in air-tight container. Makes about four dozen cookies.

MawMaw used to make these all the time and kept them in a Community Coffee Fresh-O-Later to keep them sealed and fresh. This is my take on what she made as no recipe was ever written down.
