Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 cucumbers
1 onion sliced thinly
½ cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 pint ½ and ½

Directions:
Directions:
Slice cucumbers (I use my Food Possessor) You can peel or leave skin on cucumbers.
Soak cucumbers in salt overnight and rinse under water and drain.
Great Grandpa would always say "Soak them to get the poison out." There isn't any poison in cukes that I know of!
Mix vinegar, sugar, pepper and ½ and ½ and pour over the cucumbers and onion.
Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.

You can also make these without the ½ and ½.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Great Grandpa had the best crop of cucumbers I ever saw that grew along his back fence.
Every day we would go out and hunt for ripe cucumbers.
There was never a shortage of cucumber to eat.
