Ingredients:  
1 lb chopped beef roast, cut in 1 to 2 inch cubes
3 - 4 potatoes, cleaned, pealed and cubed
3 - 4 carrots, cleaned and sliced
1 onion, cleaned and chopped
1/2 cup barley
Beef stock or water, enough to cover mixture (if using water, add 2 or 3 cubes of beef bullion).
1 tsp salt or to taste
1/2 tsp pepper or to taste
1/2 C raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Put beef, potatoes, carrots, onion and barley in crock pot. Cover with water enough to cover. Add salt and pepper. Cook till beef is done. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Stir Raisins in to stew and let sit for a few minutes till raisins are plump.
Serve.
