Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4½ c. cold water
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. white rice (not instant)
¾ c. sugar
1 egg
¼ tsp. nutmeg or to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water, salt, butter and rice to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer about 30 minutes, stirring often so it doesn't stick.

In a small bowl mix sugar, egg and nutmeg together. Add a couple spoons of hot rice and mix more. Then, add all of this mixture to the cooked rice, stirring constantly. Let it all cook till it boils again, stirring often.

Allow to cool for a bit. Pour into a bowl and cover with saran wrap putting it right on top of the rice (against rice). This keeps it from getting crust on top or drying out on top. This rice is good hot or cold.
