Ingredients:  
3/4 c shortening (I use the butter flavored sticks)
1 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c water
1 t vanilla
1 c flour
1 t salt
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t soda
1/2 t cloves
1 c raisins (I use dried cranberries)
1 c chopped nuts
3 c quick oats

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop rounded teaspoonful onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 12 - 15 minutes. Remove from baking sheet immediately and cool. Store airtight.

Can add the nuts or not. Can also replace the raisins with chocolate or butterscotch chips.
