Personal Notes:
Kay worked with me at the Y for about four years. We hit it off well and enjoyed sharing our artsy, crafty projects.

These have become my go to recipe for whatever holiday cookies I make with Kayla and Annie. Halloween: Bats, ghosts. Christmas: Santa, candy canes, stars, and wreaths. They learn how to roll out the dough without smooshing it and they have fun cutting them out. Frosting is always messy fun so it's good to have a sense of humor.

I have just learned to paint these cookies after they're frosted with white, I mix paste food coloring with vodka. Vodka evaporates quickly on the cookie and doesn't make them soggy. Different shades of green make very pretty wreaths. The red and white candy canes turn out very nice too.
