1½ cups of unbleached flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
⅛ teaspoon salt
½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 packages Rosebuds, Chocolate Macaroons, or Hersey's kisses

1. Preheat oven to 350º.
2. Whisk together four, baking soda and salt and set aside.
3.. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
4. Add peanut butter to butter and sugar until combined.
5. Add egg and beat until smooth; then add vanilla.
6. Add flour and mix; form into very small balls.
7. Bake at 350º until light brown at the edges.
8. Immediately place candy in the centre of the hot cookies.

Chocolate Star Cookies are a Christmas favourite in Aunt Florence's home. She always doubles the recipe and shares them with family and friends.
Florence says these are great cookies to make with the little people. After they mix them, the dough can be rolled into balls. When they are finished baking, the kiddies can press the candies, on the hot cookies, if there are any candies left!
