3/4 cup shortening
1 cup light brown sugar packed
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and molasses. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Refrigerate 1 hour. Roll dough into balls size of a small walnut/ Dip top into sugar and place on greased cookie sheet or parchment paper. Sprinkle tops with 2-3 drops of water to make crackled surface

Bake 375º 10 -12 min
