1 cup shortening
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
3½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk (1 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice and enough milk to equal 1 cup. Stir and let stand for 5 minutes)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting:
4 tablespoons butter
¼ teaspoon salt
2½ cups confectioners sugar
1 egg yoke
3 tablespoons hot milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cookie: Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Add remaining ingredents and mix well. Drop by rounded spoonful on to prepared cookie sheet.

Bake 350º for 10-15 minutes. Cool and frost bottom of cookie.

Frosting: Mix all ingredients separate into two bowls. Keep one vanilla and add cocoa to make the other chocolate.
