6 Tablespoons shortening or margarine
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup blanched almonds or other nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon. Combine all ingredients. Shape into roll about 1 1/2 inch high, 2 inches wide. Wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Slice about 1/2 inch thick. Place on ungreased cookie sheet one inch apart and bake at 400 degrees for 6 minutes.
