1 cup raisins
1 and 1/2 cups salted peanuts
6 cups flour sifted
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups butter
3 cups sugar
2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
3 teaspoons soda
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup dark molasses
4 eggs

Preheat oven 375°.

Grind raisins and peanuts together, using medium blade, set aside
Sift flour and spices in large bowl, cut in cold butter until mixture forms fine crumbs, add raisin mixture, sugar, oats mix well. Drop by heaping teaspoons on greased baking sheet. Flatten with a glass two and a half inches apart. Beat in one egg in bowl until blended, brush tops of rounds with egg mixture
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
