1 cup shortening
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
3½ cups flour
5½ cups old fashioned oatmeal (NOT Quick Oats)
12 oz package semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together:
shortening, margarine or butter, brown sugar, and sugar
Add one at at time:
eggs, vanilla, soda and salt
Then add flour, oatmeal and chocolate chips one at a time.
Roll into cookie dough balls. Place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes
