Ingredients:
2 cups applesauce
1 cup Wesson oil
2 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 1/4 cups flour, unsifted
For fruitcake, add: raisins, fruitcake fruit, nuts, and/or candied cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Mix wet ingredients. Sift flour with spices and soda. Add to wet ingredients. Be sure to put wax paper lining in bottom of pans as fruit can stick. Bake at 350 about one hour. Start checking depending on size of pan when tops are brown, but use toothpick to check if center is done. This is very moist. Makes 4 loaves or small fruitcakes with fruit added. If wrapped with wax paper, it will last for a good length of time.

Personal Notes:
Joyce made this as fruitcakes for as long as I can remember. It is very good and not at all like the traditional fruitcake of which everyone makes fun.
