1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup melted butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 cup warm water
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. English walnuts, chopped
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter, beat with sugar, add eggs. Mix well. Add flour, baking soda with water and mix well. Add nuts and raisins.

Drop by teaspoonsfuls on buttered cookie pan and bake at 350º until light brown (8 to 10 minutes).

This has been a Christmas favorite in the Tiedemann family for many years. It was Herb's favorite Christmas cookie and his Mom sent us a box every year. I started making them after she passed. I've always thought hers were better!
